     在明代中后期,伴随着思想界的解放,文学界也出现了以李贽、汤显祖、公安三袁为代表的文学革新运动。这一文学思潮以摆脱经典的束缚,走向心灵的解放为特征。晚明文学思潮与二十世纪中国新文学有着密切的联系,因此晚明文学的研究受中国政治、思想和文化的影响就特别深刻。二十世纪晚明文学思潮的研究大致在三种模式(或方法)的指引下进行的。一是二三十年代用五四新文化理念观照晚明文学,以周作人、刘大杰为代表;二是三十年代延续至今的王学左派棗资本主义萌芽说模式,以嵇文甫、任访秋为代表;三是八十年代中期以来受西方学术思想的影响,注重历史棗文化综合研究的模式,以陈伯海、左东岭为代表。三种模式互有交叉,各有侧重,共同构成了二十世纪晚明文学研究的格局。

Trends of thought in Late-Ming literature had much to do with 20th-Century literature, so the studies on the former was deeply affected by the politics, ideology and culture of 20th-century.20th-Century studies on trends of thought in Late-Ming literature mainly developed under the guidance of three Patterns(or methods ):the first is to cast light on Late-Ming literature with the new cultural ideas of "4th,May"movement in the 20s,30s of 20th century, which is represented by Zhou Zuoren and Liu Dajie; the second is the pattern of discussion of the seeds of capitalism, the Left Wing of Wang Yangming,which lasted from the 1930s to now and was represented by Ji Wenfu and Ren Fangqiu; the third is a comprehensive pattern called history-culture affected greatly by western since the middle 1980s,which was represented by Chen Bohai and Zuo Dongling, etc. These three patterns intherlap one another ,but have their own emphases, which constructs the structure of the 20th century studies on trends of thoughts of Late Ming Literature.

Studies on trends of thought in Late-Ming literature in the 20th-Century mainly developed under three patterns (or methods), including firstly, to cast light on Late-Ming literature with the new cultural ideas of May Fourth Movement in the 1920s and 1930s, which is represented by Zhou Zuoren and Liu Dajie, secondly, the pattern of discussion of the capitalism shoot, from the Left Wing of Wang Yangming, which lasted from the 1930s to now and was represented by Ji Wenfu and Ren Fangqiu, thirdly, a comprehensive pattern called history-culture affected by western thoughts since the middle 1980s, which was represented by Chen Bohai and Zuo Dongling, etc. These three patterns intersect one another, but with their own emphases, which constructs the pattern of studies on trends of thoughts of Late Ming Literature in the 20th century.
